It is a newborn in the media landscape of Burundi. Radio CDN of the Association Cibitoke Diaspora Network (CDN) broadcasts its programs on 97.0mhz 24/24 hours from 31 December 2019. It broadcasts from the capital of the province Cibitoke in the municipality of Rugombo and covers the provinces of the West, the North, the Center and part of the east and the south of the country. This community radio also broadcasts on the network. The association CDN plans to extend it throughout the country. According to the President of this association, Dr Denise Nsanzamage, the radio project started from the will of some members of the CDN in order to contribute to the integral development of their province. Dr Nsanzamage is very grateful to the late President of the Republic Pierre Nkurunziza, which encouraged and addressed the Diaspora of Burundi to contribute to the national economy through the implementation of projects aimed at lifting the economy in line with the National Development Plan (PND 2018 - 2027). «To this end, the promoters of the project have therefore joined together to put together their contributions to achieve it as soon as possible», informs the President of the association. She does not fail to thank the National Council of Communication (CNC) and the Authority of Regulation and Control of Telecommunication (ARCT) for the emission authorizations. And take this opportunity to solicit the support of other more experienced media, the Minister of Communication and partners both national and international. Denise Nsanzamage asks them to technically and financially support the radio for its extension of the coverage zone and in all the projects that the association intends to implement.

Marie Chantal Nijimbere, Minister in charge of Communication, in her inaugural speech, congratulated the CDN association for this project of the Radio, conceived to contribute to the development of the country in general and in particular of the Cibitoke province. The latter invited Radio CDN journalists to transmit only messages that calm minds and avoid broadcasts that invoke despair and the loss of taste for life. In this way, journalists will give the floor to those who will help the radio to achieve its goal and the minister confirmed her willingness to support the strengthening of the skills of its staff.
